Harmattan, Alberta
On October 27, 2006, Blackdog entered into a farm-in agreement with a Private (“Privco”) junior oil and gas company to participate in the drilling of a high impact development gas/oil well in the Harmattan area of Alberta approximately 80 km northwest of Calgary near the town of Sundre, Alberta.
Under the terms of the farm-in agreement, Blackdog would pay 25% of all costs to completion or abandonment to earn a 15% interest in the half section of land that the farm-in agreement covers.
The well was spud on November 19, 2006 and was drilled to the depth of approximately 2435 metres. On December 2, 2006 the well was successfully cased. The well tested at gas rates of up to 1.6 Million Cubic Feet per Day (“MMCFPD”) with associated liquids of 40 Barrels of Oils per Day (BOPD).
Blackdog commenced commercial production from the Harmattan 6-22 well on June 2, 2007.
